Just Buy a 5150 - but don't turn it up...

    Hey guys -

    Here's my dilemma.

I have a very nice 5150 head in my office, hooked to a well-gigged but fully functional Peavey 4x12. Everything works just fine. But... I can't possibly turn this thing up. Other organisms in the vicinity would be vaporized or, at the very least, irritated.

I know I can get $500-$600 out of this head if I were to sell it. I'm considering doing that and buying a 6505 MH.

I'm not gigging or even playing with a band, so I don't feel I need the full-size head. And the MH would allow me to run at 1W or 5W.

Anyone who owns an MH satisfied, dissatisfied?

Thoughts on the matter? Thank you.
All I can ask is that I suck a little less each time I pick up my guitar...

I have a 6505+112 which is kinda middle of the road, but I did play on a 5150 iii mini at GC through a 5150 iii 212 and it was fucking awesome. Do it man, if you don't need the insane volume from a full size, you have nothing to lose, and only your hearing to gain, and maybe saving the paint from melting off your walls.

I'd definitely like to upgrade to a mini head and 112 or 212 cab some day, but I'm totally happy with my combo at this moment. I picked my combo up used but like new for $400, threw in a $75 George Lynch Super V12, and left the back open, and it really kicks ass.

ps this white version makes me moist

It's too bad the 1w Marshalls are so expensive. The JVM1 is a killer little bedroom metal amp.

Don't turn it up, or use something smaller than a 4x12?

Or buy an AFX II XL and an FRFR set up.

Hard to argue the awesomeness of the 5153 50 watt.

    I'd go for the 5153 50 watt and a 1x12.
