Long story short, I'm going to be starting a band soon, and I need an amp that can keep up with a drummer. Money is really tight, so I'm looking for something that's in the $200 range ideally. I know I won't get a great amp, but there's no way I can spend $500+ right now, so I'd rather go affordable than stretch my budget and still end up with something that's just alright. I don't have a cab, or else I'd be looking for Peavey heads.
I found a guy who will sell a Bravo for $200. Will a 25 watt 1x12 tube combo keep up with a drummer? I've been listening to it on YouTube and I think it sounds surprisingly good, but it's YouTube. The upside to that is it should be small enough to play around the house, too.
Other than that and a Bugera 1960 head I won't be able to talk down in price, my options so far are a 100 watt Bandit and a 150 watt Transtube. Apparently they like Peavey around here.
Thoughts on a 25 watt the combo vs a 100 watt Bandit?
Peavey XXL if you're on that kind of a budget
