So, after having had a Roadking II for 5 years I realized a while ago I just wasn't McLovin' it as much as I wanted to and had kind of restarted my VHT fanboidom (never really went away now I think about it) so figured it was time for change. Plus I kind of realised I just didn't need a 4 channel amp...
Not to slate the RKII in any way, it is an amazing amp, but tastes change...
Anyway, I'd been eyeing up a Herbert for a while, but just couldn't gather the funds together but then on the off chance asked James on here if he wanted to do a trade as he'd told me he wanted to move his Herbert on.
Anyway, throw in one broken jcm800 (which I intend to fix, play around with, and then do some mods to depending on what it's like) and boom, everyone is happy!
Whilst it's weird not having the mesa around, I've already been having fun with the Herbert and discovering that it has more low end than roseanne barr and is just realy fun for downtuned guitars! Also sounding good through the two notes torpedo setup!
Tonight I'm going to start on fixing the 800, which should be fun, ad really want to give it a good crack as I can open it right up with the two notes, which should be a laugh
Anyway, a quick picture of the wall of death:
