Found this Pedal in one of my long forgotten boxes full of old crap that I was going to throw way without even looking on what was inside... the Box was forgotten for more than 10 years and I was giving a Spring Cleaning on old Boxes... out of sight for more than 10 years (or 12 or 14) so whatever it carried wasn't important right? Yeah but I decided to take a last peek and in the middle of old Cellphones and network cables/Modems and tons of Magazine CD's from the 90's there it was... the DOD FX86B Death Metal Distortion (uhhhhhhhhhh...)
Curiosity called me and decided to see how this dude "performs" with Digital IR's in Reaper (they were bad in front of Valve Marshall's if I recall correctly).
Its just a curious video on a cheap Pedal remember that
The Chain used was:
- Ibanez MTM2 with EMG 81/60 (24v mod)
- DOD FX86B
- REAPER with Nadir using Catharsis S-Preshigh IR only, no EQ or any other FX was used.
Distortion is massive and theres no way to back it off. It was super hissy with Level more than Mid on Passive pickups but quiet on the EMG's. Although it kinda performed "better" than I was expecting.
I have two options now... put it back in the Box and bye bye or use it as a heavy paper weight
