Ok I really should know this by now but I'm asking for help to be sure. I have a
6505 MH which has one extension speaker output which can be switched from
8 to 16 ohms. I have one Peavy 112-6 cab which is 16 ohm. I would like to
add another. These cabs only have a single jack input. If I put a "Y" connector
on Cab #1 and run another speaker cable to Cab #2 should I switch amp to 8 ohms. Will it work, is it the way to do this ?
Why I want to do this instead of just going to the 212-6 cab.
> The 2 x 12 is horizontal and I want to elevate the amp itself to make
adjustments or just look at settings easier.
> At home 1x 12 is more than adequate for practice and recording but have been
jamming lately with a drummer buddy of mine and a couple other old bastards and another spkr. would help as his drumming is loud and obnoxious.
I was thinking about this yesterday, but didnt want to give you bad info but I think using the Y cable would make it parallel and it would make the load 8hm. I think? Curve ball is how the Y cable is made...You can just get a connecter jack plate for a 2x12 cheap instead of the Y cable and hook them both up through that, wired in parellel configuration then you would have your 8 ohm load.
