Bought one on ebay for 1000 Canadian.
It arrived in great condition. A lthough it has a weird damp basement smell..... similar to the jet city jca 50 that i bought and then sold.
Only got to quickly try out all three channels. For a ffew minutes each. I went home at lunch as i had a feeling as it would arrive today. Sure enough there it was on the porch. Not my preferred delivery method.....
Anyways with a new amp i like to try each channel with the guitar volume low and then cranked all the while increasing the gain. I find this gives me an idea of each channel's range.
I really like this amp. A real nice grind or growl to it but a smoother sound than the 6505+.
This amps sounds really full. Whereas the peavey didnt sound as good until i added a hall of fame to the effects loops.
I far and away prefer the EVH. But the two amps are different enough that.
Will add some pics asap. I was in a rush as i was only home for about twenty minutes.
Oh and the thing is loud. I probably was overdoing it as my ears were riringing a bit.
Not regretting choosing the 50 over the 100.
I dont see the shared eq for channel one and two to be an issue.
For the price i think this is an awesome amp..... versatile.
I need to play with channel three.... the red channel more. First impression was thst it wss not as brutal as i expected. But i was rushed.
6505+ is no slouch and at 600 to 700 it is probably best in class for hard rock and metal. But at the 1000 range i am particularly pleased. Be interesting to sample a dual rec as they fall into thst price category as well.
I have a roadster but not sure how close it is to a dual rec solo.
I would say this may join the stiletto deuce and unholy trinity as my top three. In no particular order.
