A week ago, I ordered a strap from a Canadian leatherworking guy who sells his stuff on Etsy. Not only did I like the look of the thing, but he was willing to make it extra long for me at no additional cost - 64" at midpoint. You loose a bit of length when using a strap on either the SG or the Flying V because of the strap button placement, and this length gives me the option of hanging the guitar comfortably on any of my rigs.
The color I ordered is "tar."
Yeah, I've seen people relocate the forward strap button, but I didn't want that.
Anyway, I realized after looking, that I have about 6 unused straps in my office of varying quality and color that I've picked up because either they matched a particular guitar or I simply felt attracted to them. Saying this, it seems odd to me that my favorites are the Original Fuzz plain, solid color canvas straps with the heavy duty ends.
Everything I use has to be compatible with strap locks. I use Schaller.
Are you into straps? Do you buy for utility, for aesthetic, or both? Have a favorite brand or style? Leather or canvas?
When I saw the thread title this came up to my mind
