So I got some Amazon gift cards for my B Day last week and they were burning a hole in my pocket. I have also been on a little practice amp kick. I had heard good things about the Blackstar Fly 3. It's a little 3w amp that has a clean and a OD channel, plus a shaping control and a simulated tape delay. You can also add a stereo extension speaker that makes it a stereo 6 watt amp, which I did. I got the pack which has the amp and extension speaker plus the power supply (it also runs on 6 AA's). All this for under $100. I was a bit skeptical, but this amp sounds fantastic. The cleans are outstanding and it can do rock type crunch and even metal tones very well. The shaping feature is supposed to go from British type tone to American tone and it does it pretty well. Also the delay adds a nice depth to the tone. This little amp is perfect for practice. I also have a Yamaha THR10X that is great, but this little fly may be even better for a third the price. I haven't really got to crank it or try a boost in front of it, but I imagine it's going to perform well.
