    NAD - couldn't pass it up - just buy a 6505+

After selling my shotgun, I ran into a deal I just couldn't pass up.

This guy had a 6505+ he had pawned because he needed the money, we made contact, I paid his pawn ticket and gave him a couple hundred extra. The whole deal was $450 USD. Needs a footswitch, but otherwise a great amp in terrific shape.

    I'm kinda stoked.

I have another guy offering me a Mesa Boogie Rectoverb 50 in trade for my Laney... it has no footswitch or handle - I'm not sure I want to give up the Laney but I'd like to have that Rectoverb. I don't know.

But right now, I'm getting ready to burn the drywall out of my office.

All I can ask is that I suck a little less each time I pick up my guitar...

Sweet. If it was the Peavey for the Mesa I'd tell you to go for it, but the Ironheart is so on point and intuitive.

Heh, I'd say the opposite, I'd go for the mesa to give you something different from the peavey. Those rectoverbs are nice amps.

Personally, I see the ironheart as a bit of a "in the moment" amp that everyone seems to love at this point in time, but I know plenty of people that have moved them on for better stuff.

Mesas are built like tanks and just always sound fantastic, so as a trade I'd go for it no questions asked.

Nice score on the 6505+ by the way

If you sold the shotgun, does this mean you're now Unarmed Bacon?

    Um... not quite...

Odd thing, though. I have an Avatar cab with three inputs. One is 4 ohm mono, one is labeled 16 ohm mono, and two can be used as 8 ohm stereo. While my Laney works just fine in the 16 ohm mono (with the amp set for 16ohm,) the Peavey makes no sound at all set at 16 ohm and plugged into the 16 ohm mono jack.

If I set the amp to 8 ohm, it immediately starts humming and working in the 16 ohm jack. It also works (set at 4 ohms) in the 4 ohm mono jack. I wonder if the switch is fucked up and 16 ohm just doesn't work.

Amps are much better than guns

Also I agree with 7dt - id take the Mesa over the laney personally. I wasn't that impressed when I tried the ironheart.
