    Extreme Settings that Work

    So, fiddling around with my Single Recto last night, I dialed Ch1 in as such:

    Mas = ~3
    Pres = 0
    Bs = 0
    Md = 10
    Tr = 0
    Gn = ~5
    ...and, it wasn't bad. In fact, it was pretty cool. Funny enough, if you dial in somewhat close to that, you get a weird wonky sound, but once the Treble is entirely cut (which is typically something I always push up a little), it's as if the sound just snaps back.

    I know Santana ran a setting something like that, but has anyone else found a usable extreme setting? Clearly, besides 10/0/10

    Treble on 0 on Rectos and Marks gives an interesting sound. I think Drew posted a thread about it a while back, when he still had his Rectoverb.

    Yeah - I think I ran my presence higher than that, but it's an interesting sound - it basically reshapes everything into the midrange, and doesn't sound NEARLY as dark as you'd expect looking at it, the treble still comes through well enough. I ran a hair more gain than you, maybe 1-2 o'clock depending on the guitar, but it works oddly well on a Recto. Less so on a Roadster since it's so much darker, though.

    I run my Blues Jr sort of like that. Bass and treble are typically around 9:00, with the mids at 3:00+. (Apparently I need an amp that's better suited to my preferred tones. ) Gain is typically as low as realistically possible to get the most headroom.

    edit: Does this count?

    I hope not, because that's my favorite TS setting.

    I put the power switch in the OFF position. Unconventional, but I sound my best during those times.
