    really glad you posted this. didn't get through the whole thing and I'll probably finish up on it later but I really dug reading this stuff.

    I found this part interesting and had to listen to the song. Sounds like a speaker blowout but they went with it on the final recording (happens about half way through the song and the end )

    The first recognizable “distortion sound” recording
    occurred on a country song by Marty Robbins.
    During the recording session on that song (“Don’t Worry Bout Me”), their bass amp supposedly “malfunctioned” and produced a pleasing “fuzz” type
    effect.

    Very interesting, being big fan of solid-state amps this is pretty cool.

    That said, there are so many good solid-state guitar amps that have been developed throughout the years so praise the amp lords to have worked on such a technology.
