Take a look at the knobs. This is a solid body guitar and the knobs are pushed into the body.

I'm pretty sure reading that story made me die a little inside. I both look forward to and greatly fear the day my KxK's get shipped to me.

Doubtful. $3000 is the agreed-upon cap that they're liable for. If anything, it's a lesson that if you have a rare guitar like that, make that one your carry-on, or find a better way to get it where it needs to be that'll cover the entire loss.

yep. i dont know what that guitar is worth, but i'm sure its 5 digits, so it would probably be a better option to buy the seat next to you if you had to, it would be expensive, but much less that the guitar would cost to replace

I find it kind of odd that if the guitar was "the one" and was his main instrument, that he didn't have some sort of insurance policy for it. Being that he is taking a risk everytime he checks it in with baggage when he flies with it, the yearly insurance premuim is actually quite low. A $500 case isn't going to replace it if it's lost in baggage claims, or stolen.

Granted, it sucks what happened to it, but you don`t take your main player out, and leave it in the hands of baggage handlers to care for it without proper insurance.

"so Mike makes these guitars for all these metal
dudes and then plays this happy music?" - Erin
