(posted on ss.org as well, but this is for those who don't venture those waters any longer).
Having owned a DC727 for nearly 5 years now, AND having never parted with it (while parting with probably 30+ other guitars ), I figured it was time to belly up and get another.
Timing couldn't be better, considering they now offer non-rounded body sides as a standard. It will be a good dynamic to the one I currently own, and may feel a little different (but hopefully not too different!).
The one I currently own is all mahogany (neck and body), black hardware, active eq, blank ebony board, standard bridge. It also has a painkiller in the neck and bridge pickup positions. Easily the best guitar i've ever owned played
Now, for the NEW ONE!!
-alder body/maple neck (standard)
-maple quilt top
-custom dragonburst finish with triple deep step option (my fav part): instead of the regular green fading to blue, I asked for the new teal, which fades to the sapphire blue, and then to black with the blackburst edges. It's going to be quite tasty
-ebony board with standard MOP dots
-graphtech saddles, which are not listed on the page, but were only a $20 upcharge
-matching quilt headstock
Overall, I'm very excited to see how it turns out. The option 50 was used for the finish, which voids the 10-day return policy, but I figure a regular dragonburst looks sweet, so the teal to blue will probably look even better. a chance, yes, but one I'm willing to take right now
now...6-7 week wait...FUCK!!!!!
That sounds pretty sweet.
You know the drill about pics when it arrives.
