Ok, to continue on from my Jackson CS thread.
Hamer makes quality guitars. Hamer makes guitars that kick absolute ass in the sound and looks department. Hamer custom shop would be required to make a Hamer I'd find comfortable .
Here's my options:
1. sell it for $1500, buy a gibson LP studio for $800, put $700 as a downpayment on a custom tele 3-4 month wait on the tele
2. Trade for a custom-made singlecut to my spec, by a small-time luthier - 2 month wait
I'm not sure which I want to do. If i get the gibson, I'm back to something familiar and shouldn't have any issues, and would wait until the tele is built. If I get the singlecut built and I don't like it, i am under no obligation to trade guitars.
I'm torn between "old faithful" and my dream singlecut to my specs... I also told the guy offering cash for the Hamer that I'm trying to decide ASAP on what I'll do.
I can only speak for myself when I say that I would trade for the SC custom. You get something built to your specs, which would be great if you really know what you want.
You're gonna get a custom either way, and the wait time is shorter with the SC.
