    New Parts Guitar Day!!

Okay, so about a month ago I sold my Schecter with the intent of building something like this:

Which is based on Adrian Smith's guitar from Death On The Road:

So, I set about finding a sunburst mexi strat, and failed. In's classifieds I found Technomancer's Agile ST802, that had been up for sale for like a year(this is his photo):

Somehow nobody grabbed this, so I did.

Next was a neck, I went Might Mite off ebay(photo from auction):

Then I bought a bunch of parts off Guitar Parts Depot, Ebay, Guitar Fetish, Musicians Friend, etc, etc.

<<<<<Skipping over parts that were deleted from my camera>>>>>

I stripped the body of hardware and filled the post holes. Unfortunately I need to cut it for a bridge humbucker:

Refinished the neck in tung oil, leveled and recrowned the frets, installed the Agile's tuners, and the R2 nut:

    Wired the pickguard:

GFS Neovins and a Dimarzio Super D. Tone pot is only connected to the neck and mid.

    Pic of the Gotoh Floyd:

Laying the stuff together for fun:

    Neck installed:

Humbucker cut made(damn fucking sloppy, but my Dremel sanding wheels kept dieing, and I have no router), also output and bridge ground wires ready for soldering:

Pickguard on, bridge set on for positioning:

Okay, I have no shots of the bridge stud install. It was a damn nightmare anyway, as the trem rout from Agile was too far back to get the bridge where I really wanted it. It'll still intonate fine, but it's not as close to the pickguard as a normal floyd strat. The studs are also 7/16", which is fucking huge, and fucking hard to drill into a body. I'm still waiting on my headstock decals, but that might be a week or more.

So, after throwing everything together this is what I've got:

I think it turned out pretty well, all things considered. If I'd had the coin I could've gotten a Warmoth body and neck, and just slapped it together, but this will be about $500 total after I sell off the left-over parts.

Cool. Every time I see a thread like this, my Partscaster gas goes through the roof.

Hahaha, glad to pass the GAS along. Watching Maiden's Flight 666, Death On The Road, Rock in Rio, and The Early Years, pretty much back to back, gave me enough enough GAS for 2 Strats!!
