So, after the epic fail that was my last try at this, I decided I needed a better base for this build.
A new body was acquired, Mexican made Fender, mint condition:
New neck was purchased on Ebay. Small builder out of Niagara Falls NY:
Holes were drilled in the neck and body, note the old school floyd screws:
Some logos were applied to the headstock, and then cleared over with satin poly, then hardware was installed:
(I don't want to hear about how I shouldn't have put a Fender logo on this. It needed it, IMO.)
Finally we have a guitar that plays in tune:
Alder Strat Body
One Piece Maple Neck, 16" Radius, Jumbo frets, 1 11/16" Nut
Gotoh Floyd(w/ D-Tuna) and Nut
Dimarzio Super Distortion
GFS NeoVin NEO9 and NEO7
Warmoth pickguard and backplate.
All Fender pots, switch, jack, neckplate, knobs, etc.
How does the Floyd keep tune on those.... screws?
