The old square heeled UV7PWH neck is now a UV7PBK AANJ neck(with a yellow logo. ).
It wasn't too bad of an ordeal but still kind of a pain in the ass. I'm glad I didn't ditch the neck, though. What a badass neck! I have no clue how long it has sat off a guitar with no string tension but without any adjustment it is straight as an arrow. It plays fantastically!
I stained and tung oiled the back of the neck black. Mostly to hide the bits where I doweled the old screw holes. Not that big of a deal but it was just a personal preference thing. I might eventually just give it a matte black finish since black stain is always kind of iffy and I love the way that looks. I was also going to match the head to the body(BSB) but I think I like it more this way. Gives it more of that "mutt" look.
The little ding here(that I missed ) is the start of the point where I had to ad some wood to the neck under the overhanging fretboard.
I like it. The stain looks good... it almost makes the neck look like Wenge.
