As a few of you probably know, a baritone conversion neck from ETGuitars is on its way to me. It will (hopefully) transform my RG7 into a 28" long riffing machine.
I've heard about the effect that this will have on the treble strings, so I thought about tuning the whole guitar down to ADGCFAD to counter this (I normally play in standard BEADGBE). All I need to know is whether power chords (a low A power chord, most specifically) retain clarity in this register. This is something that I consider essential to my playing. Some guys can discipline themselves to play one note riffs in that register; I can't.
Seems to work fine on my 26.5" KxK SCii-7, so I don't know why you'd have problems at 28". Then again IIRC you're the guy that can't stand B on a 25.5", so opinions will vary
Pups, amp settings, and string gauges will obviously have an impact as well.
