You can't see in the pic, but its a printed scratchplate not a 'real swirl'. Unfortunately, the print isn't too great quality wise and you can see lines in the ink where it hasn't printed well. So I'm hoping a blue mirror one will be a better quality, if not I'll be miffed.

Swirl it yourself

it's not too hard.

When nothing less than second-best will do.

"You fuckers are out of your minds. We're on here (HCAF), we're not guitar players. We're Guitar buyers who sometimes play them before we sell them. We spend way too much time posting about guitars here to actually play them."

Trashcan you don't care about.

Project Guitar :: Swirling a Guitar Body

only it's a lot easier with a pickguard because it's not made of wood.

Its finally finished! Its taken some months, but here is the result

I know it definitely won't be to everyone's tastes, but its better than boring black and will do me till I have enough money to get a higher end 7 (maybe next year if I get a job, I have plans already).

Thanks everyone who helped, special thanks to Zimbloth for recommending the painkiller, and Elysian for supplying the Sperzels.
