Clearly, a bargain.

Doesn't it have the larger body too? It's the only oversized Les Paul they make.

Still way overpriced, but the large body does sound like a good idea (for balance mostly).

If it's $4300 and that's $3000 more then an LP standard, where do you guys get LP standards for $1300?!?!?!

A shoutout to Scotty J for the JSX!

Seriously, LP standards these days are $2400 from online retailers. It's just absurd.

A completely subjective discussion of semantics? Awesome!

What's the drawback to the Studio? Seems like a pretty good deal. I wouldn't mind one.

well the new standards (2008+) are factory plekd (sp?), locking tuners, assymetrical neck profile, and chambered (weight relieved they call it, i call it chambered with lots of really small chambers). The old idea of a standard is still around, called the traditional.

The customs and studios are still the same as before, meaning the studio is an aesthetically stripped down custom still.

me and budda were talking about of LPs before... along the lines of me paying an extra $2500 for an ebony board, block inlays and binding compared to his studio

Yeah, the studios don't have binding, ebony, a maple cap, or Burstbuckers/'57 Classics. If you buy one, play it first though. You're just as likely to get a bad one as a good one... Epiphone seems to have better QC these days at half the price.
