Inquiring Interest: Acrylic RG/RGA 7 bodies..

I've been looking at companies, and acrylic manufactures for over a week now, and I discovered a friend of mine has vendors, and even has the CNC program written for an RG7 body. The only catch is, for it to be reasonably priced, I have to have atleast 12 people interested in buying these bodies. That would make them somewhere around $250 to $300 a body. The only thing that really has to be agreed on is the Bridge, and that it will have Humbuckers. He says that if you want 1 hum 1 vol (like me) or 2 hums etc. doesn't matter, as long as everyone that will buy one agrees on the bridge/shape. Just seeing if there is any interest here for one.

What does acrylic sound like? It seems like acrylic is generally more for looks than sound, but if that's not the case, I may consider thinking about the possibility of giving this some thought.

    eh, to each their own...

a buddy of mine had one of the B.C. Rich platinum series acrylic warlocks. that particular guitar sounded really, really good to me. enough so that i wouldn't mind tracking one down for myself.

I would have thought that it sounded like complete ass, too, until I got my Jem 20th (see avatar).

The Jem 20th does have a set of uniquely calibrated pickups to attest for the fact that they are mounted into an acrylic body that weighs about 7 or 8 lbs, but I've got to say this...

It sounds fucking awesome. I've heard that the Crystal Planets sound a little bit bigger and better (which blows my mind) but the Jem 20th sounds amazing.
