    It seems pretty unlikely, but if it does turn out to be true, it can only mean good things for the quality of future Gibsons.

    Yeah, it'd be nice to see Hartley Peavey at the helm. He knows what he's doing when it comes to building decent quality throughout the line.

    Why is it unlikely? Peavey is a larger employer than Gibson is and certainly seems much more stable. Not to mention they aren't being raided!

    That rumor is a bit old, and I haven't seen any updates in awhile. However, word on the street is that Gibson may be hurting financially. They've been mismanaged for a long time--stupid R&D choices, and lots of corporate acquisitions. The latter usually comes with a heavy debt load, which is a big problem in the current economic climate.

    Peavey could hardly do a worse job of running Gibson than the current ownership.
