Default Early guitar builds

You know, the ones that aren't quite perfect, or didn't turn out the way you had hoped. I have a few in this perdicament; stripped of hardware, sitting around, waiting and hoping that one day they will once again be played. The sad truth is that I have built a couple that I'm really happy with, and those early builds will probably never be played again. I feel they are not good enough to sell, but not bad enough to destroy. But, it seems like a waste for them to just sit there.

What have you done with your early guitar builds?

How much is wrong with them? I suppose you could sell them to people who are interested in a project guitar or something.

There's only one that has any real problems, but, it's more asthetic than anything. When sanding the front of the headstock, I sanded part of the fretboard, and when cutting the back of the headstock, I cut too far into the volute area so it's quite thin. It actually sounds and plays quite well. Everytime I look at the guitar though, it makes me mad, so I don't play it. I call it 'fat bastard'.

Another one (named 'mac') is 27" scale length, which I didn't find comfortable.

And the last one's (named 'al') neck is a bit wide for my preference.

Yeah, they might be good for someone as a project guitar, or a player/backup guitar, but I wouldn't feel comfortable selling them considering they were 'learning' builds, and didn't turn out absolutely perfect.

I remember Al. That was the straty one, right? I recall a dark stain and a maple neck...

So, are you offering to give these away? I'm intrigued by the Singlecut (felt weird saying "I'm intrigued by Mac" ). How do you switch between pickups? Do you want some money to cover materials? Just want to get rid of them? Give me some details about Mac.

Intimate details.

I guess I'm looking for a good home for these early builds. If someone liked them enough to cover materials, I would consider that generous. In reality, I would simply be happy if they went to someone that would play them. That's why I made them. Keep in mind, there is currently no hardware or pickups on them. Well, actually, Al still has everything but the bridge, but, all of that will eventually be moved to Betty (if/when she gets painted). Anyways...details about Mac:

Mahogany body and neck with tung oil finish and ebony fingerboard, 27" scale length, stainless steel frets, two-way adjustable truss rod. I used a Hipshot bridge and Gotoh tuners. A push-push potentiometer was used to switch between pickups.

Thanks Darren! Have you seen Mac's sister, Mable?

Mable is staying with me.

How wide is Al's neck at the nut?

And yes, I'm interested in Al
