I like the new RGD shapes, and wouldn't mind another Ibby, but I'm seriously sick of basswood. I already have two guitars that are, so I really don't need another. I wonder if there will be any baritones in the mix. I'm not really into anything more than 6 these days.

I cant' see EMG logos on that RGA8 though. Maybe they're the same no-namers?

If Schecter would step up and make some thinner necks, people wouldn't care. There is definitely more variety in the market now, as compared to three years ago, so Ibanez's stubborn use of basswood is becoming less of an issue.

Anderson takes the important step of adding a maple cap to his basswood bodies. Without the maple top, basswood on its own is way too soggy sounding for anything I want to do. Even the EBMM basswood guitars, which have higher quality wood than Ibanez IMHO, don't sound all that great to my ears. It's just not my sound.

As for Ibanez, they don't seem to have the same eye for the little details that they used to. It all seems to be about cost-cutting for them nowadays, like they just assume that people will keep buying whatever they put on the market.
