they are. I'd imagine they used them as they are easier to paint to match the body.

I've been thinking about this for a long while now, as a 7 string. Next week I'll start the red tape battle with ESP to see if they would be willing to do it. (I had to go through the same thing with the Kamikaze 7, years back, if some of you remember.)
