Well, its all a waiting game now until I have the $$ to order the new gear I am getting. I am getting an amp head, a guitar, and then selling my amp/cab for a new cab and to fund other gear and possibly a 2nd guitar. I really want one of the Schecter V's but I am thinking about instead getting one of the old Jackson Dinky 7s and an LTD H207 and having two custom bodies made. A gibson style V for the H207 neck, but for the Jackson, I am going retro and paying tribute to my very missed, beloved USA Gunslinger. This is the concept I am looking at (imagine a jackson headstock and one more string):
Mahogany body. Not sure how I want to do the finish. I want to put most of the money into the parts rather than the finish, so I may just stain it black, tung oil and then get a full front decal for the graphic. I already have a PSD at 300DPI of the graphic, which is identical to the one that came on my gunslinger accept this one has green and the 'slinger didn't.
The V I think will be Ash/Alder. I want a Tele, and I long for a 7 string Slinger, so I am combining the two, however I am truly a V guy at heart.
Just for reference, it is homage to this:
Too bad there aren't any maple boarded, reversed headstocked, bolt on 7 string guitars so I can do it completely right.
