    Guitar preferences

I'm fortunate enough to have a nice stable of guitars at my disposal. My preference for which one i pick up for each task i want to complete changes fairly often. in general if i'm noodling around watching tv i'll reach for my strat but lately it's been the les paul. no good reason, just happens. etc etc

Lately when reaching for an 8 string i've been hitting up the fanned fret sherman i have and the straight fret 8 string sherman hasn't seen a lot of use. I picked it up yesterday to have a writing session with a buddy of mine and hawt damn. That guitar is too damn sweet. I assume it'll now be phasing the other 8 out for no particular reason.

The whole point of this thread is to find out, am I alone? do you guys also do this shit for what seems like no reason?

I generally find myself wandering between my Mirage and my Warmoth guitar-wise, although I've been playing the SLSMG and '51 more recently.

For bass, the Rickenbacker has eclipsed the other two, although I'll still play my C-4 and P-bass every so often.

But yeah, every so often I'll pick up one that I haven't played in a while, start playing it, and realize "This is why I still keep this one around!"

Yeah, I get fixated on a one or two guitars at a time for no particular reason. I'm on my traditional Strat/Tele kick at the moment. Nothing but single coils.

I only have 1 guitar at the moment but I've been craving a 6er with Humb bridge and single neck lately. No reason for it at all cause my 7 has a 5 switch with hum and single coil tones.
I play Suhrs, not poor people guitars. -Chris

I get so fixated on a single guitar sometimes that I fear grabbing another, afraid that fixation won't come back (really).

My life is a constant rotation between different guitars. In fact, I'm about to rotate back to the Big Yellow KXK for something this weekend.

I have nothing the calibre of a KxK but I'm not doing bad. I switch up constantly depending on my mood.
