Thinking about reviving my ESP parts o caster. This guitar was a mid 80's Salmon/pearl pink 400 series strat knock off with the uber Flicker 2 bridge.
It met with a series of unfortunate refinishing mishaps Now it is mostly black.....mostly
Anyway it has a traditional strat neck - v profile 9.5 radius and smallish fretwire with rosewood board. I'm thinking about just picking up a new neck with a maple board. I want jumbo frets and 12" radius.... (or compound...)
Warmoth are expensive but that is one option I am considering. I know Mighty Mite makes jumbo fret replacement necks but does anybody know if they make necks in compound radius. Mighty might necks are priced a lot better than warmoth ones.... The mighty mite website is beyond fail and only has images with no text copy at all so I haven't been able to find out just what options they offer....
That being said Im going to pick up one of those rust pickguard adam posted
Im wondering what color would go good with this. Black? Im considering a black stain i think so the grain shows up...
Guitar has a distortion humbucker and 2 esp single coils in it now Will be switching to all singles (YJM/YJM/HS-3)
I had one of my saddle springs has gone missing - can you order these anyway without ordering saddles? I stopped in my local shop and he said he couldn't get me just the springs.....I looked on Stewmac but no dice there either....
stay the fuck away from the mighty mites, unless youre willing to put work into them the moment you get them. solid building blocks, if you dont mind doing fretwork on a new neck
also, springs are available in bulk on allparts, ill see if i cant just find one laying around the shop and ship it off to you.
