A friend of mine who is a carpenter is going to be building a replacement RG7xx1 body for me.
I need to buy the wood; and together we will route it out and finish it with Tung Oil; i was thinking of starting with a solid Ziricote body just because of how beautiful it is.
What are the tonal properties of this wood, and would going for a single piece of wood for the entire body be a good idea?
It will be replacing the body of my 7621; where is the best place to buy a large slab of this wood suited for an instrument?
Thanks for your help in advance guys!
youre looking at a $180 piece of wood, if you can even find one big enough. Shit, even if you made it a 4 piece, 2 layers deep and side by side, youre looking at that price, probably more if you found a 1 piece.
Ziricote is ridiculously expensive dude. cheapest price i can find is 4/4 in widths up to 8" for just under $50/bdft
