OK, first the obligatory intro: I am a 40 years old male, who grew up listening to the likes of Judas Priest, then Metallica, Megadeth, and eventually old school Florida Death Metal and some occasional early 90's black metal music. I really don't get the new Metal Core style, nor enjoy the recent Death Metal, they are TOO intense for my taste! (I guess I am aging after all!)
I have been passionate about metal, but not so about playing it though...Until Now!
I am about to embark on learning to play electric guitar and I am willing to put considerable time and effort (juggling family and my own IT business as well! )
I am realistic, so I am not planning to be a metal god, or audition for the next metal band. I just want to be able to play some famous metal tunes, or experiment and come up with nice riffs, solos and whatnot. Also, from the following links, you would see that the look of a guitar is also important to m, at least in the beginning to get me into the mood to play metal!
OK, I walked to a local Guitar Center store, and these hardware caught my eyes:
Spider IV 15 and 30 watt Guitar Amps | Line 6
My first choice would be this:
Laguna LE50 Short-Scale Electric Guitar and more Travel & Mini Electric Guitars at GuitarCenter.com.
And these are other choices:
B.C. Rich Bronze Series Warlock Electric Guitar and more Solid Body Electric Guitars at GuitarCenter.com.
B.C. Rich ASM 1 Electric Guitar and more Solid Body Electric Guitars at GuitarCenter.com.
B.C. Rich Warbeast Guitar and more Solid Body Electric Guitars at GuitarCenter.com.
B.C. Rich Metal Master Warlock and more Solid Body Electric Guitars at GuitarCenter.com.
That pretty much says it all about my taste, budget, etc.
Many thanks in advance, I really appreciate your insights, comments advices.
What is your budget like?
If it's short, the Spider and Laguna would be a good entry, but if you've got more headroom, you may be better off starting with better gear.
