The local Sam Ash in White Plains has a couple of Composite Acoustics guitars, including two or three acoustic instruments and one hollowbody electric. All composites (no wood involved) makes for some seriously lightweight and resonant guitars, although the Rainsong on the hook next to one of the acoustics was still a little more my taste.
Seriously cool sounding instruments and the acoustics have an awesome neck heel. The electric plays and sounds great and is ultra light and slim, only let down by the very narrow and small acoustic-style fretwire and kind of crappy upper fret-access.
$1200 for the electric seems a bit much as there are some rough edges, but it seems there's room in the market for a composite-bodied acoustic and electric again...
Cool. How were they electrics for metal/rock tones?
