Hey guys, as a customer of 2018 here is my perspective..

Luckily i have not been in a situation where i lost my job *yet* in life, and i can only imagine that it would be very difficult.

From my conversation with her she is working 3-4 part time min wage jobs, when she gets home all she probably wants to do is sleep. I have had friends who have had to do this, and i watched them all burn out after a couple months.

She went from a professional engineering job to a bunch of part time min wage jobs in a couple of months.. I know if this happened to me i would need a support structure, or for people to under stand my situation.

My agreement with Courtney was to just send me what she had done so far, and i would get it finished at my local builder (Dave Preston), she promised to send it this weekend; but i am not really expecting it for a while because i know her situation, and i know she is trying to do the right thing. I explained to her that she can send it when she has time, and the fact that she is making the attempt to respond to my emails is all i really care about, i know that she will eventually send me the neck because she is an honest person in a bad situation.

If you are in a rush to get your body i would suggest you just ask that she sends it to you and have some one local finish it, other wise it will very likely take her months to really have a chance to get you the body; she is getting slammed with work at this point just to say afloat, the last thing she is thinking about is any type of guitar work; and i am sure any work she will do at this point will be sub par because her heart is not into it.

As a customer of hers i was disappointed just as you were, but i don't think taking it to a personal level will help any one.

Its important to have compassion for her situation, because i would hope others would have compassion and understanding if i was in the same situation.

100% agreed, but she still needs to keep her paying customers in the loop. Business is business, and the OP that sent her money worked for his cash as well.

bingo.

i can understand the op doesnt have many posts here, but damn, some of you guys are being pretty assholish

the op has a point, she should have been in contact instead of ducking out. she has a cnc machine, so i'm not sure why it would take so long for her to slap a blank in it and press a button, but then again, she may have lost the machine.

i guess i'm just saying that its not really quite right to take the side of a builder that completely flaked and isnt doing what they claimed(or even close) for any reason. 2 weeks turned into 4 months plus. thats an 800% mark up in time frame? do problems come up in life and business? sure, but thats where communication comes in. i would rather get contacted with the truth about delays and know whats going on than for the builder to have problems and then duck out on communication.

and for what its worth, i'v followed kinpins posts about this subject on ss.org and i dont get the sense what so ever that he has been pushy or anything like that as some of you are suggesting. this guy is getting the shaft a bit, so have some tact, will ya?

My posts were just because the OP has only come here for one FS thread last year, and then when ss.org is down to bitch about a builder. I just think it's funny that you can tell when ss.org is down by the newbs posting H8 threads here.
