The downside of my recent bargain ESP purchase is it's really shown up how "cheap" my RGA7 is. Ok, there's £225 difference between the retail prices of the two and the RGA is alright for it's price point, but it still feels cheap. Plus it's very obviously an RG7321 neck, which has never been my favourite Ibanez profile. I'm also feeling the itch for a trem'd guitar again.
Now I've got a couple of options I've thought of already, but I'd like to see what else is out there. I'm thinking used is the best route, and by the time I've sold my RGA7 I'll probably have about £500 to spend. I do like my Ibanez necks, so so far I've got:
Ibanez S7420 (I loved my old one and I'd replace the TRS)
Ibanez 540S7 (has the advantage of the block heel UV profile)
What I'm after:
Non basswood (though I'd be open to finding a cheap enough RG7620/block heel UV and replacing the body)
Locking FLoyd style trem (no Kahlers or zero points please)
2 humbuckers (preferably passive routes, I've got some BKP's looking for a home)
25.5" scale (no baritones or Schecters please)
Thin Ibanez like profile to the neck
I know this is probably going to come down to another Ibanez, but I'd at least like some options. I did like the new Jackson SLAT3-7, but it's over £1000.
