Robo-guitar shocker! Gibson opening Firebird X platform to third party developers, app store imminent -- Engadget
To be honest it still leaves me thinking, 'so what?'
But maybe someone will find this useful/interesting.
The only thing that interests me is to see what different companies can do on the 'platform'.
That said, I'm a bit of a pessimist when it comes to digital technology inside guitars.
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2.1; en-us; DROIDX Build/VZW) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1 480X854 motorola DROIDX)
The problem with this is that the platform is so incredibly expensive that the market is tiny. Few would want to develop for such a small user base, and having such a small base lessens the likelihood that a user would bother to do much with it.
