Not so much stealing thunder, as it's not as nice as the other thread, but more so borrowing some for a few minutes
So, bought this from OzzyC and it shipped here nice and quick. One of these was almost my first 7-string, but I got a Schecter Revenger-7 instead, can't remember why. I've lusted after these for years. Well, I sold my last 7-string (Hellraiser) a bit over a year ago, and just recently sold my baritone, wanting something different, and this popped up, and I couldn't say no.
Quick review: It feels great, there's really nothing about this guitar that jumps out and screams "I'm an Indonesian made Squier!". It's solid, plays really decent. I mean, it is what it is, but for what it is, it's in great shape. Even the pickups sound surprisingly decent. I'm actually wondering if I'll need to change them out at any point. I might, still, but I don't feel like I need to right away. Cool
And despite the fact that it was wrapped entirely in bubblewrap (a shit load of bubblewrap ), Mr. Peanut still found a way to infiltrate the premises
The pickups are actually surprisingly good for what they are. I swapped mine out mainly for aesthetic reasons, but have no complaints about the new pickups either.
I've played a couple of these and they've all had sharp fret ends that stick out, probably just due to the fretboard shrinking a bit after being made. But the neck has a great profile and is very comfy indeed. Even the tuners aren't as bad as most cheapo Squiers have.
