Chris has bravely allowed me to build a body for a neck he got a while back, so, of course, there's gotta be a pic-story! This time, I will be posting in-progress pictures rather than waiting until it's done and posting them all at one shot.
The body will be RG shaped, made from Cherry, color (if any) to be determined, tung-oil finish, fixed bridge, humbucker bridge / single coil neck, three-way blade switch and a flush-mount jack.
And so it begins with the obligatory pic of Chris's wood...
An action packed shot of glue drying.
Then I made the body router template from 3/4" mdf and applied a coat of shellac to protect it from humidity changes. Usually, I would just use a paper template, cut to the line then sand. But, I found I get a much cleaner edge using a router template.
That's it for now. Tonight I'll cut/route the primary body shape and do some color testing (on scrap).
(What's the code to resize pics?)
Interesting. No Clue about the resizing pics thing though
