Default Pulled the trigger on the LTD ST-203FR

I've been cravin' another superstrat & this one is just calling to me, so I went for it. My Charvel USA San Dimas is great for the H-H pup config, but I wanted something that had a single coil in the NECK w/ more traditional sounds & that vintage look.

Those are pretty cool guitars; my buddy's shop has one right now. I wasn't expecting much for the money, but came away pretty impressed.

They're great guitars but are crying out for a refinish as the relicing is pretty crap, gloss over wear? Yeah...

Slick score though. My only gripe is that I've never once seen a maple board wear in like that.

Oops...I meant I wanted a single in the NECK position.

I don't mind the relicing. I'll probably take some sandpaper & steel wool to help it along. I wanted the FR version because I dig the FR bridge & control config (I always hated the top volume knob on a strat because I smack it). I wish it came with the sunburst color, but oh well.

I plan to upgrade it with staggered locking tuners, a D-Tuna & some pups. I'm still deliberating on the bridge pup, but I'm pretty sure I'm going try the dimarzio injector single coils.

Man, if they did one of those without the relic'ing, I'd be all over it at that price point.

Too much focus leads to tunnel vision
Too much faith leads to religion
Too much knowledge leads to confusion
Too many guitar lessons lead to jazz-fusion
