So back when Warmoth had their 30th anniversary sale I bought a couple of bodies - one of them I knew right away how I wanted to build - the other I just loved the look but had no idea what neck woods, pick-ups etc. I wanted to use. I still haven't decided on the pick-ups but did get the neck.
I thought at first I would get a mahogany neck with some exotic f/b wood to go with the body -which is mahogany. Then I got my goncalo alves neck and fell in love with the "unfinished" feel. According to Warmoth mahogany should be finished so it was out. I wanted to try something different so this might be a trainwreck.
Our resident expert luthier says this neck may be "dead" - it may be "dead" but it looks cool and no one is ever going to hear it outside of my music room anyway so if it's no good then what the hell it was worth the experiment.
So without further ado Bubinga on Bubinga
Now I just have to figure out what pick-ups to use
