I have a mid 90s foto flame (made in japan) strat "60's re-issue" branded that is in medicore condition. Was my first guitar and it's basically been neglected and sitting on a stand since 1996 when i got a guitar with humbuckers. I think i paid $450 for it or something like that in '94 or 95?
hardware is rusty, finish/clearcoat has some cracks, i don't think it's through to the wood, but it's hard to tell. Otherwise i believe the neck to be straight and the frets are in order.
I put it up on craigslist before bed one night for $250 and i literally had 100 emails the next morning all offering me MORE if it was still available.
So i did what any CL poster would do and simply didn't reply to anyone while i did more research
I can't seem to see anyone selling my exact style in a similar condition so i'm not really sure where to price it. It NEEDS work, but apparently these are a bit rare and desired.
Should I send it out and fix it up?
keep it? (would like the money, but not critical)
sell it as is? and if so, at what price point?
here's a couple pics
