Thinking of selling the Allender (explanation in incoming NGD ) and the gold hardware is looking a little...well, used.
Any recommendations for getting it looking as good as possible. I know that the gold on these things tends to wear away, so I'm not expecting perfect results, just want it looking a bit better than it is.
Flitz metal polish. Use sparingly with an old sock or rag.
If your hardware is corroded deeply (pits and green gunk, not just a dull appearance) you will end up stripping off a lot of gold before you get the pits and gunk out/off, so strike a balance that you find acceptable.
