I was in a guitar store today buying strings for my seven-strings when I saw a pair of D'Addario XL Chromes which are what I always used to use like about ten years ago or so (specifically 13-56 gauges). I never really get a chance to play those kinda strings nowadays, so I bought a pair, strung them up on my Gibson Les Paul, and just played some random shit through my Axe-FX Ultra.
I really love how warm and smooth the tone on these things is.

The distorted lead tone in the middle is particularly smoooooooooth.
They do sound nice, nice playing too btw
I've been meaning to try out some flats for ages now. Do you find that the Chromes peel or go flaky after a while? I seem to remember someone saying that ages ago... It's quite possible they were talking about different strings entirely though, I forget!
