    Gibson Faded SG Special

My buddy from Church offered to sell it to me for $100. He got it for free, and doesn't play it. He's the acoustic lead and I am Rhythm.

The headstock broke off last year, but he had it professionally repaired by Guitar Center. Apparently from what I read, it's a known issue with the SG specials.

So anyways, this is probably a no-brainer but is $100 worth it for a USA made Gibson SG special? The resale value alone is close to $400 on eBay at least, but I do actually plan on playing it for awhile as well.

    Any opinions are greatly appreciated

Worth it for $100, no questions asked. The quality on those varies widely, but SGs are pretty awesome guitars.

You can't go wrong for $100. The broken headstock reduces the resale value a bit, but hey, for $100 you've got a great guilt-free beater.

You will not be able to resell it for 400 dollars unless you decide to gloss over the fact that the headstock was previously broken off. Do not buy it unless you really like it!

    I'd hop on that.
