    To be fair, I weigh less than the amount of string tension on an acoustic 12-string's neck. So this isn't unheard of.

    i've seen Warwick bass demos where they stand on the neck, pretty amazing the strength.

    Planks of hardwood are generally pretty strong, especially when reinforced with various materials.

    My stairs hold me up pretty well, but their tone is a bit weak and I don't like the feel of their neck.

    I haven't yet had a chance to play a Synapse, but I've read mixed reviews. They are Korean-made, and the workmanship supposedly isn't up to the old Steinberger standards. My old USA Steinys stay in tune remarkably well.
