I want to trade my Gibson 60's Tribute LP (not digging the P-90's as much as I thought I would) for a metal machine and posted on my local CL.
The Gibson was $850 and has re-sale in the area of ~$650. I could still take it back to GC as I bought it during the labor day sale (within 30 days) but I feel like a total choad returning new guitars lol!
A guy emailed me to trade a Jackson DKMG with licensed FR and EMG 81/85. It has the small triangle fretboard markers (Piranha neck?). He said they go for $900 new.
I checked it out and that's accurate - they do go for $900 new, well $850 for the black. But I found the same model on my local Craigslist for $300! And checking eBay completed listings show ~$425 for that model.
If I go ahead w/ this trade I'll lose on my re-sale value for sure. Gibson's rarely go down in value unless they're jacked up and mine is brand new.
Think I should hold out for another trade or just take it back? Why such a difference from the new price to used on the DKMG?
Take it back. No sense in gambling on CL/eBay when you are within the return time-frame.
