Love my Loomis, but curious about the H-1007...if you had to pick between the two, which and why?

I'd probably only replace my Loomis with a high end Ibby or a custom (in process...).

Loomis. Like the ash/maple combo. Plus you know you like it, whereas the H-1007 is a crapshoot.

I've played the H1007FR at the Axe palace and I was pleasantly surprised. Very nice looking and playing 7 string for under a grand. If I needed another nice playing 7 and didn't want to spend alot I'd grab one in a second.
the one Nick has at the store is a shred machine.
it's 25.5 scale VS the 26.5 of the Loomis, I say find one and check it out before you dump the Loomis (which I also like) For the cost of the H1007FR you could just go with both

I'm the opposite to you. I keep torturing myself with getting rid of my LTD m307 for a Loomis

    A black one though

I'd choose the H-1007 with a fixed bridge (mostly because I've got enough guitars with a trem). I doubt there's a big difference in quality.
