It's not an instrument I'd see myself playing, but it's very cool that they're now offering this as a model for those who are into headless guitars and want their own touch on the instrument, without having to pay the kind of money an entirely custom guitar costs.

Slightly related: I'm annoyed by how Carvin has split up their website into different versions depending on country/continent and being locked into that particular version without access to the others. When somebody posts a link to section or picture or model on their site, I'm taken to the front page and asked to specify my country.

I'm going to call to see if the the endcap accepts a string adaptor for single balls strings. Unfortunately, most double ball string sets are 9 or 10. I want 12 or 13 for B standard tuning.

If they're using the JCUSTOM headpiece as well (which I'd assume), it should.

As somebody who's been following the 'headless thing' for a few years, I'd say it started with Cynic fanbois and "retro guitar" kids but since there wasn't much in the way of quality, "easily available" Steinberger GR style guitars on the market, the GAS was dormant. Then you have Strandberg with his modular, headless system and semi-Steinberger aesthetics that tickled both the cynic kids and the ERG kids. Once Tosin and Bulb got one, the whole thing blew up.
Personally, I think its that headless guitars are extremely nice to play. They balance well, and are shorter and the headstock doesnt snag on stuff. And now there are different luithers now offering these.

Me too. This pisses me off but you can pretty easily get around it with proxy surfing.

These look awesome. Would love to see a seven string model some time but I won't hold my breath.

With the way Carvin has been stepping up in the last year, never say never. And yes, a headless 7-string w/ a trem is my dream guitar.
