So Carvin's DC700 has been expanding its options list lately. Over the holidays it acquired the same fixed bridge option as the DC7x7 series as well as passive C26 pickups. So now, when I feel the time is right, I will probably have them make me one: alder/maple, transparent black burst on flame maple top, natural body binding, fixed bridge with string saver saddles, passive pickups, satin finish, black hardware, 14" radius neck, ebony fretboard, stainless steel jumbo frets, no inlays, and reverse DC700 headstock. All told we're talking about $1400.
Oh, and the old molded SKB cases are no longer available. You can only choose between tweed or black tolex hardcases, and neither is free (the molded SKB case was free when I ordered my ST300 last summer).
Budget for pickups.
