So I got my new bass for recording today which is was initially exciting however once I got it out of the box
Then the fun stopped
The truss rod cover is look/feels like card board and covers some of the inlay. The neck doesn't fit the pocket perfectly and the fret board finishing into the neck is also wonky (see photos).
and the shody electronics cavity:
However, most of that doesn't bother as much as I though it was going to be 35" scale due to all of the range. I asked about another bass and stupidly I presumed all of the range they had at the time was going to be 35" however, not this one it doesn't say in the description (feel a bit silly).
Also this bass suffers from floppy B syndrome it's about double the volume of the other strings possible because it moves so much.
On the plus side I really like the neck and the feel of the body and all the tonal options.
So currently I am thinking of sending it back or buying some bigger strings to stiffen the tension which I was going to do anyway.
What should I do?
what did you pay?
