    Thoughts on RGT42

I have had my LTD MH-327 on craigslist for the past month. No reasonable bites but I'm not in any hurry to sell anyway. I'm just gradually selling/trading all my non ibanez guitars (Wizard necks are the only necks that feel comfortable for me). I had a guy last night offer me an Ibanez RGT42 with SD blackouts. I am not sure whether it has the Edge pro II or the Edge III. He lives quite a distance away so I will have to meet him about 30 mins away. I've never played a painted wizard neck. I also havent had good experiences with MIK ibanezs. However, this one sold for quite a bit more than the average MIK RG. Anyone out there have one? Is it even worth the trip to meet the guy?

p.s. I will play before I buy. I will borrow my buddies Roland cube.

I have played Ryan's (Mr. S) RGT on many occasions, borrowed it for recording, and it's one of the very few Ibanez guitars I would actually still consider owning. It's a very very solid instrument, fantastic neck and construction, and very toneful. Definitely at least check it out. Especially with the Blackouts, worth it for sure!

Personally, I'd rather have the MH-327, but that's just me. I've never liked any of the Ibanez trems other than the original Edge and LoPro Edge.

I've owned 4 of them, or variations of them. I still own 2, and one of them is my favorite guitar I have ever owned.

Love them to death. Stock pups are trash tho.

I'd keep the MH327 as well

I've really liked every RGT42 I've played. Almost bought one about a month ago.

I didn't like any of the MH-327s I've played (though they were all floor models at GC) but I absolutely love my buddy's RGT42 Blackouts are awesome too

I've never touched one I didn't get along with. New pickups (if you don't want actives ), block the trem and you're golden. The heel is sexy as hell.
