And wow, is it amazing.
The workmanship is typical SE, which is to say pretty tight. No finish funkiness, no rough fret edges, none of that. The bird inlays look nice, and the traditional PRS headstock looks great. It's got a solid spruce top, and is what I would call a "mini-jumbo" body style/size, comparable to Seagull's mini jumbo stuff.
It's extremely light, yet well balanced. What's also notable is that the neck feels like a wide fat PRS SE electric; it's not a fat neck at all. So it's very much like playing an Ovation. The obvious benefit over an Ovation is that this sounds like a traditional, balanced acoustic guitar. A very loud acoustic guitar! It projects very well, without being boomy in the lows or tinny in the highs.
At $650 for the Standard and $750 for the Custom, these are really nice acoustics. IMO, it's a better playing guitar than my Seagull, with a much bolder tone. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sub-$1000 acoustic.
It's MIK, in the same factory as the other SE stuff, in case anyone's wondering.
Any word on the back and sides?
